A little info about newborn portraits.
Hey there! First off, a BIG congratulations! This is such a special and exciting time in your life and if you’ve found your way here, you’re looking to photograph your growing family. Choosing a newborn photographer is a big decision and I’m honoured you’re here and considering Ashley Yerxa Photography for your newbornphotoshoot. These will be precious photos that you will look back on many times in your life. One day, you may even pull out these photos to show your children as they have their own families.
Custom Photos for your growing family
Ashley Yerxa Photography specializes in posed newborn photography. I have a cozy, home-based studio filled with wraps, props and all the gear necessary to capture those sweet little newborn features. Before your session, we will chat about colours and props that you may want to use so I can design a photoshoot you will love. This will help us create classic photos that match your home decor and that you will be able to display for years!
When will my newborn photoshoot take place?
Newborn photos are taken within the first 14-18 days after birth. At this age, they are usually flexible and sleepy enough to capture all of those classic newborn photos you’ve probably seen in your searches. Ashley Yerxa Photography takes a limited number of newborn photoshoots each month so it is recommended that you book in your second trimester. To confirm a booking, the session fee is due and I write down your due date. Once baby is born, you can contact me and we choose the date for your session. I cannot wait to meet you and your new little one!
What to expect at your newborn photo session.
In our studio, sessions are relaxed and we take all of the cues from baby. There will be light refreshments for you to enjoy while I take over and pose baby without ever feeling rushed. Newborn photoshoots average about 2-3 hours. The studio is kept very warm to keep baby comfortable at all times so I always recommend dressing in layers. After your session, I get to work on your custom proofing photo gallery. From there you choose and purchase only the photos you love. After your selections, I fully edit and deliver your final images to you.
